1.Shri Ram Janmabhoomi (Ram Mandir): 1.9 mi (3 km)
The sacred birthplace of Lord Rama. This grand, newly consecrated temple is the spiritual heart of Ayodhya and the primary destination for pilgrims worldwide.
Hanuman Garhi: 1.5 mi (2.5 km) / ~20-min walk
Kanak Bhavan: 1.6 mi (2.6 km) / ~25-min walk
A 10th-century fortress-like temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is a local custom to visit this temple before visiting the Ram Janmabhoomi. Be prepared to climb 76 steps to reach the inner sanctum, which houses an idol of young lord Hanuman ji on his mother’s lap.
Known as the “Golden Palace,” this magnificent temple is believed to have been a wedding gift from Queen Kaikeyi to Goddess Sita. It served as the private palace for Sita and Lord Ram.
Ram Janki Mandir: (Distance 2 Kms approx)
A historic 18th-century temple from the Awadh kingdom era, built between ~1785 and ~1830. It is renowned for its unique Mughal-influenced architecture, featuring a fish emblem (a symbol of good fortune at the time) on its main gate. The intricate carvings were traditionally made using gur (jaggery) and other local materials, and the temple features the distinct “Ramraj” color.
Naya Ghat: 1.8 mi (2.9 km)
A prominent and bustling ghat on the banks of the sacred Sarayu River. It is the best place to take a holy dip, enjoy a serene boat ride, and witness the mesmerizing daily evening aarti (river worship ceremony).
Ram Ki Paidi: (Distance TBD, near Naya Ghat)
A magnificent series of steps (ghats) on the Sarayu River bank, located very close to Naya Ghat. It’s famous for its grand light and sound show and is spectacularly illuminated during Deepotsav (Diwali), creating an unforgettable visual experience.
Shringi Rishi Ashram: (Distance TBD)
A revered ashram dedicated to Sage Shringi. According to the Ramayana, Sage Shringi performed the divine yagya (fire sacrifice) for King Dasharath, which led to the birth of Lord Rama and his brothers.
Note: This ashram is located significantly farther from Ayodhya (approx. 20-50 km, depending on the route). Please verify the exact distance from our hotel and note that it is a day-trip destination, not a short walk or drive like the other sites.
